Titles, Trademarks, and Trailers: Finding your voice in a visual world

Part One: A hands-on workshop using Canva to develop engaging visuals, social media tiles, and business trademarks. We will discuss marketing in the publishing world, a business mindset as an author, and finding our own visual "voice." Attendees should bring their laptop for maximum benefit.

Cher Gatto is a native of New Jersey who spent ten years with her husband and five children developing a horse ranch in Mexico for at-risk youth and families in crisis. Her experience there and a current house full of teenagers have been the inspiration for writing young adult, coming-of-age fiction. Cher holds a master's degree in psychology and serves as founder and president of the NY/NJ American Christian Fiction Writers chapter, as well as Zone Coordinator for the Northeast. Cher’s debut novel, Something I Am Not, won the Genesis Award for the contemporary category in 2016 and was published with Lighthouse Publishers of the Carolinas. Her second novel, Regent, is completed and awaiting publication.

Afternoon workshop

Cher Gatto: Titles, Trademarks, and Trailers (Part Two)

A hands-on workshop using iMovie to develop your own book trailer. Because iMovie is a Mac program, the lesson will be geared toward Mac users with suggested application to PCs. Again, attendees are encouraged to bring their laptop for maximum results.
