Hands on informal collage workshop with Vicky Dash.  It is designed for you to use all of your senses, open to the unseen, invisible world of your imagination, and explore the creative process.

Collage material will be provided, but feel free to bring any additional paper or materials and glue you might enjoy working with.

I believe there is a great mystery and innate wisdom that resides within each of us and is waiting to be discovered.  Please come with a curiosity and see what wants to unfold.

We will begin with a  blank piece of paper, which when viewed from a larger perspective, contains infinite possibilities for images or patterns to emerge.
The process continues by taking old books, magazines, cards, or calendars and cutting them up into various sizes, shapes, and colors.  These bits of paper
will eventually be glued onto a blank page to create a collage.  There is absolutely no right or wrong way to do the collage work. The emphasis will be placed on learning how to listen from the inside, out, and "intuitively" letting the pieces of the collage form their own image.  The goal is not to complete a collage or image but, to understand where the images or patterns comes from.  This process is very much like putting the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle together.

In 1986, Vicky was faced with a life threatening illness and lived on dialysis for two years before receiving her first kidney transplant.  In 2002, she needed a second kidney transplant which she finally received in 2007.  Her journey to healing is depicted in The Blue Dog Diaries, a collection of unique writings and poems, and collage images that speak in a symbolic language.

Her stories tell of triumph and tragedy and of a world far larger than even her imagination could take her. Her work has been exhibited in several art centers and galleries, including The Banana Factory and Icehouse in Allentown, and The Nazareth Center For The Arts in Nazareth, Pa.

Members and non-members must register for this event.  Members are free, non-members are $15.00.
